Policies and guidance
Guidance and Policies describe how clinicians, scientists and others work to deliver the service. The polices are usually developed by the appropriate Advisory Group in discussion with other patient and lay groups and professional organisations. When agreed, these are reviewed and approved by the Transplant Policy Review Committee, which acts on behalf of the Board of NHSBT where the statutory responsibility lies. When appropriate, guidelines are issued in conjunction with appropriate professional or statutory bodies. These policies are regularly reviewed and revised.
