Information for Patients
This site aims to provide access to the information and data held by NHSBT, which may be of interest to those who are considering
aspects of organ transplantation.
Much of the information provided is intended primarily for health care professionals but we are keen that this should be open and accessible to all.
You should be aware of the limitations of the data as well as the strengths and be careful not to draw the wrong conclusion. The information on these pages is regularly updated to ensure that it is current. However, all information given is based on what has happened and so may not be a reliable guide as to what might happen in the future.
The data provided on this site should be considered alongside other sources of information, such as documents available from Patient Support Groups and your own doctors and nurses. We hope that this information will inform the discussion between patients and their doctors.
NHSBT has been working towards the full implementation of a National Patient Consent Scheme since 2004. The scheme has been successfully implemented for all Kidney, Liver, Cardiac recipient and Living Donor registrations. Patients are asked their consent for use of their information, details are given for: Recipients here and Living Donors here.
